How to Earn Money on a Plane ?
On the 6th of March 2019, I posted a blogpost ‘how to earn money on a plane?’. In this blog post I will compare my competences of 2019 with those competences today in 2023.
March 2019 : I traveled to New York city (7 hours flight) which was a perfect opportunity for my tryout.
Last year I missed my yearly goal for my own portfolio. In order to succeed and achieve my goal for 2019, I need to maximize our time. A quick calculation taught me that I spend around 3 to 4 months on the road, planes and in airports. That is a lot of time, isn’t it ?
Now that WIFI has become available on planes as a standard service, I was curious whether I could earn money on a plane. After take off in Brussels, I purchased a 20$ WIFI access and started plotting out my trading plan for different currency pairs. I opened my Tradingview software and plotted out the correct quality trading setups.
After a 6 hour flight, I landed with a 337,14$ profit in my demo account. Small base hits which added up to a nice dollar amount…I had one small losing trade of 7,41$. I got in a little early as I took a second stab at it 2 hours later and made 64$.

During the flight I lost 1 hour Internet Service but before losing Internet Service, I did set a stop loss and take profit level for each trade to protect each trade. When the Internet service came back online, I was stopped out in one trade in profit and another one was still running. Before landing I closed the trade with the profit at that time.
How to Earn Money during Travel ?
In October 2022, I traveled to the USA for business. At the airport in Newark, I walked in the business lounge when I received a message from my own A.I Trading Assistant NINI.
I understood immediately why NINI alerted this trade. As I had more than 2 hours until boarding, I entered twice the trade. Then it was just a matter of patience.
As I decided to not let this trade continue over the weekend, it was just a matter of waiting. Continue my work and wait. Uneducated people think this is speculation. Educated traders understand market liquidity. I closed the trades before boarding with 2.495 euro profit. This is exactly the reason why I wanted to learn forex trading. Make extra cash flow or income independent of the location. The 3 years investment in research and development of the A.I. trading assistant NINI gives me an edge in the markets. Now I know there will always be a trade going forward. If I miss it, so be it. I know there’s always a new one coming.

So in 2019, I came to the conclusion that I can make money while sitting in a plane. Here’s what I wrote in 2019 :’While other people are sleeping, watching movies, reading books or doing other relaxing things, I can earn money. The fact that I made 337$, is simply astonishing and opens a door to great possibilities. I took small positions but there’s so much room for more profit and more money…’
Today we are 2023. My competences and toolset has evolved tremendously and I still see a lot of potential for future growth. Scalability is not an issue in the FX markets because the financial institutions create the market liquidity. It is a problem in other markets. Members of the 5% Club will be able to learn how we scale up each year as we prefer to prove things out first for ourselves.
